INTERVIEW WITH: Xur from NYC <3
Peep the drip!
FK: Where are you from? What is your age?
X: Born and raised in New York. I’m in my early 20s. NYC really shaped how I move and how I see things.
FK: Why did you start following me? How did you find me?
X: Your work came across my feed organically and it felt familiar. The energy felt real, not forced, so I tapped in.
FK: I think we parasocially bonded over music. What are you listening to right now?
X: A mix honestly. A lot of MIKE, some old soul, and ambient stuff late at night. Music that lets you sit with your thoughts.
FK: Perhaps also drip/fashion. Put me on what’re the kids wearing?
X: That question hits different now. I could’ve answered it pre-2019. Now fashion trends don’t really last years the way they used to. True Religion jeans inspired by Sosa, Juicy Couture sets, Don C hats, Biggies Marmots, Timbs — those were real time capsules. Now everything moves fast and cycles quick, so it really depends on what era or aesthetic someone’s tapping into that day.
FK: Fashion-wise, who inspired you? At age 10–14 vs now?
X: My uncle inspired me. Around 10–14, I used to rock his OG Polo buttons, his sneakers, and True Religion jeans. He was in high school at the time, and I was fascinated by how fly he looked every day, y’know? Meanwhile, I’d be rocking Angry Bird sweaters, cardigans, and shit like that—lmaooo. Thank GOD for my Uncle Joey. I still wore Jordans and stuff, but I never touched Hollister jeans, True Religion jeans, Adidas tracksuits, Human Races—all the high school fashion vibes from 2014–2017.
FK: What’s your favourite late night snack?
X: My favorite late-night munchies snack is definitely some fruit snacks and Hal’s salt ‘n’ vinegar chips. (EDITOR NOTE: NYC BASED!)
FK: What’s the first thing you notice in a girl?
X: The first thing I notice in a woman is her fashion sense and how she smells—no creep shit, lmaoo.
FK: What’s the first thing you notice in a guy?
X: The first thing I notice in a man (pause) is his manners and confidence. A man who can’t look me in the eyes while talking? That definitely stands out.
FK: Are you spiritual?
X: Yeah, I’m spiritual. My grandparents are too, but I see it in my own way. I believe there are positive and negative spirits in this world that can either help you or keep you down in life. My grandparents always told me never to say you’re gonna do something until it actually happens—you never know what negative energy is watching your story or too invested in your life. Even down to things like voodoo, I’m open to all spiritual practices.
FK: Why or why not?
X: I believe in alignment and energy more than labels. I trust intuition and growth, and I see spirituality in my own way—learning from my grandparents and staying open to different spiritual practices that guide or protect you.
FK: Anything you’re working on or wanna plug?
X: Just creating and staying consistent—fashion content, day-to-day life, and exploring different creative lanes. I’m also improving my sewing skills for my clothing brand that’s in the works. To whoever reads this, I’m always excited to be a part of someone’s creative process, no matter the genre, campaign, or project. If you’re feeling it, hit me up @xurskii.nyc—and big shoutout to my friend’s brand @chr0.m4 doing some next-level stuff.
